Reflection : A few months ago, Kim Mu Sin teacher said we should read this novel, 'The secret diary of Adrian Mole '. Kim Su mi teacher said it'll be included in final exam. So, I had to buy this book.
When I first opened this book, I didn't really like it. Because the fonts were too small for me, and it had almost no pictures at all. However, when I continued reading, I found it a litteld more interesting than I thought.
Adrian Mole is 13 years boy in U.K. He believes he is an intellectual. He writes some poets and sends it to B.B.C. His family consists of his father, mother, and his dog. Next to their house, there lives Mr.Lucas. There are many other characters, Bert Boxer-the very old man who is cared by Adrian Mole-, a dog named Sabre-Bert Boxer's dog-, Mr. Cherry, Mr. Scrunton-the head Mater, Barry Kent-he does bad things to Adrian Mole-, his best friend Nigel-goes out with Pandora- , Pandora- the girl he loves-, his Grandmother, the youth leader Rick Lemon, Doreen Slater, Blossom-a pony raised by Pandora-, etc.

His mother naver cares him and doesn't give him healthy diet. Finally his parents get divorce. Mother moves out her house to another home with a man named Lucas, who lived next to Adrian Mole's house.As a result, his father have no will to live, and doesn't take cares of his soon, too.
Adrian Mole is a boy who is worried about his skin, height, a girl he likes-Pandora-,and his future dreams. He is a nomal boy aged 13years except his parents. He is not smart at study or strong. Barry Kent takes money from him forcefully. His father ins fired and their electricity is turned off.
I thought Adrian Mole is living a hard life. But he never gives up his dream. He does voluntary work ant Bert Boxer's house, and takes care of him.
He consider his future job seriously. He changed his dream from vet to poet, and writes some poetries. He also protests against school to get the right to wear red socks. During his protest, he falls in love with Pandora. He often thinks about helping poor people-even when seeing a person who buys expensive tissue.-. His situation is not good. No cares of his parents, no electricity at house. But he tries his best to get better grades, and help Bert Boxer and his father.
Also, when I read a story about Barry Kent, I was a little angry. He is such a bad student. I was very satisfied when Adrian Mole's grandmother scoled him and made him not to bother her grandson.
Adrian isn't a boy who is really goot at sports, nor who studies a lot, not who has rich parents. But in his mind, he is full of his dreams. I think the author wrote a real and funny stories of teenagers.

I feel global warming everyday of my life. I couldn't see colorful leaves last autum. I read articles or books saying many species are going extinct. Likewise, global warming is a really serious matter of 21th century. The main cause of this is an increase in atmospheric greenhouse gases, especially CO2.

Green house gas emmision lead to global warming, and it results in climatic changes, a rise in sea levels, and changes in the distribution of disease-bearing organisms.

Then, what should we do to stop global warming?We should reduce green house gas emmision.
Firstly, we should develop eco-friendly sources of energy, like renewable and CO2-free energy.
Many countries are trying to develop alternative energy sources, like solar energy and Biomass fuel. To encourage developing these energy, the government needs to support companies which develope these kinds of energy or use these energy.
Also, the government should enlist global cooperation, like Kyoto Protocol, and UNFCCC. Because, global warming cannot be removed by only one country's trying.


Secondly, we should make personal efforts to cut emissions of CO2. There are many ways we can follow in our daily lives. For example, we should walk then using car. We should try to recycle cans or plastics. Also, we can plant trees so we can reduce cooling bills(?) in Summer.

To sum up, government should try to develope eco-friendly energy, and encourage people to live more environmentally friendly.
